Shanel told me this morning that someone splattered dog poop on her car. They put some on her hood, roof, door handle and smeared it on her window. That sucks bigtime! I'd be hella pissed if someone did that to me. And as angry as I am about what someone did to her car, I also find it a little bit funny. I know, I'm an arsehole but I'm the kind of person who will put a booger under your light switch if you piss me off. Flip the light on and we're even! Hahahahahaha. But I won't do it for no reason.
Today I have an appointment with a physical therapist. My back has been hurting for a while and now that I'm going to go see someone about it, my back doesn't hurt anymore. Just my luck, eh? I hate going to any kind of doctor. It seems like such a waste of time. When I go in for pain, they don't even do anything to me to determine what kind of pain it is. All they do is ask me a bunch of questions and based on my answers is their diagnosis. I don't explain things very well, as you may have noticed in my blog posts. Ha.
I didn't comb/brush my hair for 9 days. I went to Maui and forgot to bring a comb or brush. I could have easily bought one at the market but I was going into the water everyday so I didn't bother. My hair was starting to clump and tangle aka "dread". I kinda liked how it looked. But this morning my hair was bothering me so I combed it. My hair is back to original form except it does look a little bit browner than usual. It also feels a bit thicker. Maybe that's what ocean water does to hair?
....and it doesn't feel good. I don't wanna be back. Maui no ka oi! Maui is the best! I can't even describe how the trip went. I did end up taking 1426 pictures throughout the entire trip. Hahahahaha. My friends said they haven't even taken that many pix in their whole life. I'll post some pix later. I'm hella tired and I wanna go back to sleep.
It's mutha fuckin' 10:34pm in Maui right now and I'm fuckin' faded. I probably took like mutha fuckin 10 shots of mutha fuckin Patron mutha fuckers! I had about 15 beers too. We're all mutha fuckin drunk like bitches and I decided to write a mutha fuckin blog ass entry mutha fuckers! Fuck man. My heart is pounding like a motha fucka. My face is mutha fuckin purple and Grace is about to yack on my pants. She said if I took the final mutha fuckin 3 shots of Patron on my own she would yack on my mutha fuckin pants and shit. I was whip out my mutha fuckin dick but she didnt want it. I was fuckin ready yo. I just slapped Mari on the ass and shit is nuts. All of us are mutha fuckin drunk and talkin mad shit and doiong some crazy ass shit mutha fucker. This is day 1 bitches. We're here for 7 mutha fuckin days mutha fuckers. We need to find some fuckin Maui bitches. I need to fuck some of these damn bitches.
It's now mutha fuckin 10:43pm and shit and I just took another mutha fuckin shot. Im outties bitches....
Today is my Friday. I leave for Maui tomorrow morning. Yaye! I'm super excited. I tried to pack last night but I couldn't. I don't know what to bring. So far all I packed was 7 swimming trunk, 7 boxer briefs, and that's it. That's pretty much all I need. Hahahahaha. I'll put in a couple shirts today. I also have to find out what to wear to the wedding.
Tonight is the battle for 1st place in Bowling League. Right now we're 1 point behind 1 st place and tonight there will be a new 1st place team. I'm stoked about this game. Too bad imma miss next week's game cuz I'll still be in Maui.
There's a first time for everything. Today marks the first time I came into work on a Sunday. It's also the first time I worked 7 straight days and each of those days being 10 hours each. We got deadlines. And I'm leavin' for Maui on Wednesday.
Last night I watched Transformers for the first time. I must say that I am infatuated with Megan Fox. And I also really liked the movie. I wasn't expecting it to be as funny as it was. I thought it'd just be an action movie but I should have expected it knowing that Even Stevens aka Shia LaBeouf was the star.
It's a Saturday morning and I came into to work at 5:30am. Why? Let's just say I need the money. *keep in mind that I'm hourly and not salary* Me and my bro have been looking for houses. Well, my bro has and I've been going along for the ride. Yesterday my Uncle came from the Philippines to live with us. My house is pretty crowded. My Auntie and her kids are next. My Mom says that once my Uncle gets a job, they're going to get an apartment but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
I might comein to work tomorrow also. Sundays are double pay if you come in on a Saturday. The actual terminology states that the 7th straight day of work is considered double pay so it doesn't have to be on a Sunday.
Two days ago I was given the task of training some more people. It's kinda hard since I gotta find and assign the work for my group but I haven't been able to do so since training takes up alot of time. I handed off some of my duties to one member of my group and she's doing a superb job. She's doing even better job than I am. I joke around with her and say that I relinquish my title as group focal and I'm handing it off to her. This is a good thing though cuz I'm leaving for Maui next week and I'm going to have her take charge.
I won't be blogging for another week or two.
Things to cross off the list: [x] 8GB Memory Card [x] New lens (Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6) [x] Lens filter
Last night we got butt raped in Bowling League. The team we played against had a 100 handicap above us. We were 1 point away from 1st place but we lost games last night and won only 1. Luckily the team in 1st place also had an off night and they lost 3 and won 1. So basically we are still in the same spot. Next week we play the team in 1st place. It will be an awesome game. I totally think we can take them. I think we split the games the first time we played. We won 2 and they won 2. This time I think we can win all 4. I've been getting better every week and the other guys on my team are 200 bowlers. I'm at around 130 but it's been getting higher every week. I started at around 105 and in 8 weeks I went up 25. We have 7 weeks left in the season so I think I can be at 150 by the end.
So tomorrow night is Ernie's Bachelor Party. I need to stop by the bank today and get $50 in ones. I also need to take out like $400 so I can pay the bodyguard to let me take pictures. If you haven't heard about my plan yet, ask me about it. Hahahahahah. I'm evil. But only a true friend would attempt this.
So the job that got offered to me was basically an intern position where I do bitch work and get paid very little and basically get raped all day. So I turned the offer down. Plus it was also in Burbank. The only way I'm gonna move is if I'm getting paid like 80-90K. That's not the case so I'm staying put. Plus the fact that my best friend works here is an incentive to stay. The reason I wanted to leave was because I basically do admin asst work and I get paid close to what an engineer would get paid.
Whatever.
So I went to HOB last night and took some pix of some bands. There was a band that I really liked. They're called The Armada. They kinda sound like old-school Dredg, my fav band. But yeah, my camera lens suck in low-light situations. I gotta get my ass better lenses. And my memory card was crapping up on me too. It kept giving me errors when I'd try to take pix. It's officially time to buy some new gear. On the list is: 1) wide angle lens (Sigma 10-20mm) 2) faster memory card 3) external flash 4) remote trigger 5) spy lens (hahahahahahahahahaha, you'll laugh too when you see this)
I got an email on Tuesday from Goodrich saying I didn't get the job. It is now July and I interviewed for them on May 4th. They said they would get back to me in 2 to 4 weeks. It took them 2 months. I was calling them every week too for an update. Ha. Oh well.
But just right now, maybe 10 mins ago I got a voicemail message on my cell from another Aerospace company and apparently Goodrich referred me to them. I'll give them a call back when I get on break and see what the commotion is all about. *crosses fingers*
I wish they would have just given us a 5 day weekend since July 4th is on a Wednesday. People ain't gonna be comin' in Thursday! That's a fact. Might as well as given us Friday off too since they know people will be drunk and hungover and all that.
Well, I wrote a new song called Spanish Rose. Give it a listen here. I'm very proud of all the songs on there. It makes me happy to be able to write and play music again. I felt like a part of me was missing. Now I feel whole again. That was gay but oh well.
I took off my braids yesterday after having it in for 7 days. It felt like my head was gonna explode. I guess since the braids were all hella tight and they kept my scalp in tension, when I took them off my whole head felt numb. My scalp was so sensitive. It hurt when I combed my hair. And with stroke of the comb, it seemed like 20 hairs would come out with it. I probably lost 5% of my hair. I also have these red bumps on the back of my head from where the braids were too tight.
My friend who braided it for me said she never braided anyone's hair so tight. It's cuz my hair is so thin and I didn't complain at all that it was tight. It felt good when she was braiding it. It hurt when I slept though. I got about 3 hours of sleep a night cuz my head was killin' me.
Today my head still hurts. I wanna tie it up but I don't want my hair being pulled.
I know I haven't done a Dream Log in a while. It's cuz my dreams are pretty much the same topic but different location, different people, etc. But last night I had a weird one. Ok, here goes....
I was on my way to work thinking I was gonna be late. I'm all rushin' my ass to get there. And then when I finally get to work I see all these people lined up outside the building. I parked my car and went up to someone to ask what was going on. They were quiet and didn't answer me. More people showed up and were also wondering the same thing as me.
As we were walking around the mass of people trying to find an answer, we saw some dude with one of those big ass tin coffee cans walking around to each person. He was collecting money. And I noticed that each person was dropping in coins, no bills. He came up to me and I asked "How much?" He replied "53 cents." I was confused. 53 cents? I just gave it him.
So I end up inside the building and there are still lines. I'm in the line talking to someone and when I turn around I'm presented with Communion. "The Body of Christ." I put my hands out to receive it. "Amen." I'm walking away wondering what the heck just happened. I'm at work and I just received Communion. Why? And then I start seeing people from my Church. This whole time I didn't recognize anybody until after I received Communion. People were starting to look familiar. I just looked at the faces of everyone I knew.
When I woke up I was wondering why I would have a dream like that. And then I remembered sitting outside during lunch and a group of people were having Bible Study. It was probably like 15-20 people and they all had bibles and one person was preaching. This actually happens everyday.
And last week was the first time I went to church in 3 weeks. I have no excuse. I just didn't feel like going. My parents were in Europe and it was just me and my bro at home.
Last week I was asked "If you were stuck on a desert island and you could have 3 women with you, who would they be?" Without hesitation, I answered with Shania Twain, Jessica Alba......and then I hesitated. I didn't really have a 3rd option. I pretty much had all my bases loaded with those 2 picks. All my entertainment and fantasies are covered. And then I realized that home plate was where I wanted to be. (Don't mind the baseball analogies, I'm not a huge baseball fan myself.) The answer I came up with for that 3rd was......my Mom. So on this island is: Shania Twain, the girl of my adolescent dreams. Jessica Alba, the current sexy pick. And my Mom, the woman who makes my reality liveable.
The person who asked this question was surprised as hell when my 3rd option was revealed. Apparently no one has EVER mentioned their Mom to be on a desert island with them. I always say that "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." If imma get with a girl she better cook. If she can't cook, she better be willing to learn. If not, I don't care how beautiful she is cuz she's gonna get cut from the team. My Mom takes pride when visitors come over and enjoy the food she cooks. I wanna take pride when I have friends come over and my girl cooks and all my friends enjoy it. I want them to be jealous of what I have. I want them to be saying "I wish my girl could cook like that."
I was reading a book called The Alphabet of Manliness and they covered this topic. Some guys just have no clue about this kind of stuff. Here's the breakdown:
X_X_X_X 1_4_2_3
The X's represent the urinals and the numbers are the order that the urnials should be occupied. You never want to be posted up next to another dude if you have the choice. And if you HAVE to post up next to a dude, post up next to one instead of in between two. And also stay within 6 inches of the urinal while peeing. Why? Preferal vision. If I stick my arms straight out as if I was forming the letter T, I could still see my hands when I'm looking dead-on straight. When I'm peeing and looking at the wall and you're more than 6 inches away from the urinal, I can see both your dong and the stream of piss coming from your dong. I would prefer to see neither. Thank you.
I had a conversation with this girl last night. I was at her place. She was laying on her bed and I was posted up next to her. We were talking about marriage and crap. I didn't really enjoy it too much. I told her I didn't even want a girlfriend right now so I can't even talk about marriage. In fact, I told her I was in the middle of trying to break one up. She just made me feel really old. I'm 24 and I feel like I'm in my prime. I feel like my life is just starting. Marriage, to me, signifies the end of my life. It basically means I'm giving up everything I want in order to please someone else. I'm not ready for that. I dunno if I ever will be.
It feels good to finally have my computer back all to myself. But the thing is, now I'm going over to my trainees work stations and helping them out there so I'm still not at my comp as much as I was before.
No one held my hand through all the procedures when I first started working here. They just tossed me to the wolves and assumed I could figure out what to do. I mean, I got a handle of things now but it would have been so much smoother if I got the treatment that the new guys are getting. Oh well.
Oh yeah, I called Goodrich 3 times within the past week. I left messages but they still haven't gotten back to me. Fingers are still crossed, but I'm not as jazzed up as I was before now that my best friend works here too. =) Double edged sword.....
It's been real hard for me to post anything on here cuz I've been training a couple guys and they're the ones using my comp while I talk them through the procedures and crap.
But alot has been going on. My best friend Ramon now works here with me. He started yesterday. It sucks though cuz we had planned a trip to Maui on July 18-25 and now that he barely got hired, they won't give him the days off. Hell, they haven't even given me the days off. I asked for it last month and I still haven't gotten management approval. They usually don't take this long to respond. I even requested it twice. Oh well, come hell or high water. I'm going to Maui no matter what. I already paid for my shiite.
I started a new band. It's just an acoustic duo but it's so much fun. It's just me and my friend Fonso. We're called Struedel Court. That's the name of my street. We're named that because in the summer going into 11th grade, we spent everyday of the entire three month summer vacation in my garage learning how to play the guitar. If it weren't for that summer, we wouldn't be here with our musical adventures so that's the story behind that.
Tonight I have bowling league and I've been getting better and better. The first week my average barely over 100. 8 weeks into it, my average is around 130. Last week I scored my personal best with a 182. My goal by the end of the season is to break 200.
I don't ask for much, but the things I ask for are ridiculous. I imagine myself dying alone because of this. Why should I compromise my happiness to please someone else? I'm in it for me! Yes, I know I'm an arsehole.
So my best friend Ramon got hired at my company. I'm pretty damn stoked about that!!!! I wanted to leave this job but this making me want to stay for a little longer.
It's hard for me to blog at work now that I'm in charge of handing out work and training people how on the procedures and all that jazz. I have four people that I need to keep in check and it's enough for me to finish my work and also keep these people on their job and train a couple people. It's a little overwhelming but I think I got it.
I was just thinking about who in the hell even reads my blogs (besides April Joy). I know that Shanel does every once in a while. Scotty might check it every blue moon. But other than that I don't know anybody who actually reads this. I didn't really tell my friends about this. I guess I'm mostly doing it for myself to try to keep the sanity and maybe look back when I get a clear head and realize that anger dictates my thoughts too much or something like that. I dunno. I hardly go back to my old posts and re-read them. Maybe it's time I should.
Last night I slept at 2am. I woke up at 530am. Last week I was sleeping around the same time and waking up at 630am. On the weekend I slept for 10 hrs/night. The human mind can push the human body to do things that it doesn't want to do.
Money is like women. I hate it but I can't seem to get enough of it.
I think I mentioned before that I think sleep is overrated. If I didn't have to sleep, I could do so much things. You know how they label people as being a "night person" or "morning person"? I like to describe myself as an "awake person". It don't matter if it's morning or night, once I'm awake I want to stay awake for as long as possible. I once stayed awake for 2 and a half days. That was only because we were in Vegas. Ha.
I've been learning this technique for digital photography called HDR. It stands for High Dynamic Range imaging. It's this technique where you take different photos of the same image with different exposures and then you combine all the exposures into one picture. It makes the picture so detailed compared to just a regular photo. Once I learn how to do it good, I'll post some examples.
Alot of crazy stuff happened this week. I should have written them down as they happened but the craziness got to me. Ha.
Monday night: Fonso was bored so I told him to come over so he could see the skating pix I was making of him. I was just doing a sequence shot in photoshop. Jay's comp crashed so he needed an XP cd to reformat. So I told him to cruise by and pick it up. Ramon and Joel owed me money for Chargers season tix so I told them to drop it off.
They all came by at the same time and so we ended up chillin' in my garage and drinkin' it up. The madness ended around midnight since I had work the next morning.
Tuesday: I woke up at 8:08am. I'm usually at work by 7:30. I tried calling in to let them know I was running late but my phone was acting weird. So I got to work 9 and I noticed a bunch of people missing. This could only mean one thing: a meeting. So I check my email and low and behold: "Please join us for our 8:30 meeting".
I also had bowling league Tuesday night and we got butt rammed, no lube. We either do really good or really shitty. There's no in-between. I probably had my best game of the season but as a team we sucked.
Wednesday: My parents left for Germany.
Thursday: Meryl's b-day so we went to TGIFridays. They said 8pm and we got there 8:30pm but they weren't there yet. So we decided to go to Guitar Center. I haven't been there in months, and for good reason. Everytime I go there, I'm tempted to buy something. Well, I went there and I bought something. I bought my ass a new guitar. It's so damn nice. It sounds nice, looks nice, feels nice. Here's a pic of it.
Friday night I went bowling over at Brunswick. Me and my cousin wanted to test out the lanes and compare them to 32nd. I don't really notice too much of a difference because I straight bowl now. I only straight bowled the first couple times I ever bowled. Every time after that I was hooking the ball. I was also using something lighter than a 16 lb ball. I got this ball last month when I joined the Bowling League. I tried hooking it but the ball was just too damn heavy so I've been straight bowling. But on Friday I was trying to hook the 16 since I was getting the strength to do it. It hooks a little and that's a start. Once I get used to hooking a 16, it'll start hooking more.
Saturday I went to a Wedding Shower. Ernie's Wedding Shower. Joyce's mom was there too. There was some damn good food there. Well, the Wedding Shower was basically giving gifts to the soon-to-be Newlyweds and we played a bunch of stupid games that made me want to leave ASAP. We played games like pass the carrot with only your knees, make a wedding gown out of toilet paper, and this banana relay race where you put a banana in your knees and run/hop/maneuver to one end and then eat it. The groom only had 3 friends there: me, Jay, and Grace. Well, I guess that's only 2 friends: me and Jay since Grace is Jay's girlfriend. She wouldn't have gone if she wasn't with Jay. I was expecting a couple more friends to be there but I dunno. I guess that's what happens when you ditch all your friends to be with a girl. You no longer have friends. Me and Ernie have known each other since we were 3. I don't support his decision to get married but I still support him. I got his back. If this is what he wants to do, I'll let him do it. I tried talking some sense into him but to no avail. Whatever. I love the guy still.
Yesterday I did a photshoot pretty much for half the day. It was a little awkward at first since it was kinda last minute and I didn't have any plans or ideas of places to shoot at and what poses to do. Things turned out ok though cuz it started to feel natural after a hundred shots or so. I also took some skating shots after. I think I ended up taking 500-600 shots.
Last night I went to a BBQ I wasn't planning on going to. I had other plans but they finished eary and the sun was still out so I made a few calls and headed on out. It was Robert and Mohammed's going away party. Robert got another job up in Pasadena and Mo is gonna be leaving for Syria to find himself a wifey wife. It's funny cuz my Uncle wants to take me to the Philippines to find me one to. He says he's got them lined up and all I gotta do is pick one. My Uncle treats me like his own son (since he and my Aunt weren't able to have children). They have an adopted son who was a "horse of a different color". I guess he didn't exactly meet all their expectations. They still love him and all, don't get me wrong. But when he goes and drinks with his friends he'll brag about me and my brother (since we're both engineers, to some extent). My Uncle has alot of friends in high places. He wants us to marry into a good family. He specifically said that my girl MUST BE Filipino. He said I can go screw around with some white girls but I can't marry them. Hahahaha. But yeah, I think I was writing about this BBQ yesterday. Rob and Mo are leaving and hopefully I will too soon.
I was driving to work this morning and someone was driving 50 in the fast lane. I changed lanes to pass this mofo up and I wanted to give the evil eye but as I passed the car, I noticed two young children in the back. I decided to just give the quick glance and turn and speed ahead. Driver was forgiven. I hate it when people are stupid on the road and don't pay attention to their surroundings but when it involves young children or the elderly they automatically get the "get out of jail free" card. Any anger or animosity I feel goes away when I see those two exceptions. On the other hand, if it was just someone on their cell phone and didn't realize they were going that slow cuz they were talking, then I will pull up in front of that person and slow down and let them know how it feels. And then when the try to change lanes to get ahead of me I'll speed up and trap them behind some other car. I'll even try to box them in between two other cars so they can't change lanes. Yeah, I'm an arshole but it's fun.
I think I managed to salvage my computer. I got rid of most of the viruses but there's still 2 that keep lingering. I think this weekend I'll be able to get rid of it. Oh wait, I have this "Wedding Shower" to attend. What the hell is a wedding shower? I've never heard of that one before. I've heard of Baby Showers. I'm guessing this is where we bring all the wedding presents. Whatever.
I've been downloading a bunch of E-books and I print them out at work. I just wish we had a color printer near so I can print out some of my photography books.
Oh yeah, we brought back the food challenges and it's better than ever. We have more competitors (since we have more employees now). It used to just be me, Shanel, Scott, and Niki all the time. It's so much more fun when there's more people. Here's a video of the latest challenge we had: The Power Bar Challenge. Who can kill it the quickest?
So pretty much my computer has gone to crap. I was angry at first but I'm not so much anymore. I'm on the computer way too much anyways. Just sittin' on my rump all day long.
I called Goodrich yesterday to see where my standing was. They said that they're still conducting interviews so they haven't made a decision yet. I expected the lag. I gave my resume in October, I got a phone interview in February, and I got my face-to-face interview in May. I'm expecting a response in late July. It's all good though cuz I got hired now I wouldn't be able to go to Maui. I kinda also want to go to Europe and see the world like my bro did last month.
I found a new way to blog at work. I'm typing all this crap up in Notepad so it makes it looks like I'm taking some notes for something and then I just log in for minute on my blogger and do a copy and paste and now it doesn't look like I'm online all the damn time.
Oh, I just remembered something that pissed me off. Last week I was with my friends and we met a few bitches (there is a reason I refer to them as such, keep reading). Well, we were conversating and all that jazz when all of a sudden one of these bitches asked me "What do you guys eat in China?" Hearing that comment made me want to give her the evil eye but I was shocked and all I could give her was a look of disbelief. I know I have chinky eyes and all but she could have at least asked where I was from first. But yeah, my friend saw my look of disgust and he answered for me saying "We cook actual dogs and we barbeque cats..." and that bitch got what she wanted to hear. She was all like "Yeah, I heard you guys eat dogs and cats and all kinds of animals." I didn't really talk for the rest of the night. I apologize for referring these females as bitches but if they had my respect I would refer to them as ladies.
So my bro decided to download some crap on my computer and it ended up having all these viruses and trojan horses and what not and now my computer is all out of whack. A bunch of the paths got re-written and when I try to open up programs it gives some error like it can find it or some crap like that. When I got home around 10 last night, my bro was all like "Man, you got alot of viruses on your comp!" And I was all like "Dude, I just did a scan on friday and I'm good." So I did some research and found that the viruses got launched at 6:51pm on 5/29/07. That was yesterday and at that time I was in the 4th frame of the 1st game in Bowling League. Lesson: be careful where you download from. If it's too easy, there's something wrong. If it aint rough, it aint right.
I learned some life lessons this weekend. I was always under the impression that "what you don't know won't hurt you." This was in reference to a significant other who was creepin'. Well, it happened to a friend of mine and I never understood the psychological repercussions until she told the story of her experience. It got me very angry because of how it occurred. It was also very reminiscent to my actions, I was just always on the other end of the spectrum(of course, me being a guy). Whenever I met a girl and she said she had a guy, I always said "it don't matter cuz he aint here." But the question was posed on me, "What would you do if your girl cheated on you but had enough morals to tell you about it firsthand instead of letting you hear about it from someone else.?" I had no response when they asked me this. The only answer I came up with is to cheat on her and let her know how it feels to be in my position and then see if we still stand in the same place.
Life lesson: One night of pleasure doesn't equate to a lifetime of happiness. A bad decision doesn't make you a bad person. There's room to learn, there's room to grow. I'm doing both everyday.
You had the right idea. The Golden Rule. Karma. They all work the same. I'll try to remember that at all times. Sometimes we learn the hard way.
Friday: Bachelor Party. I aint never been to one before so I didn't know what to expect. It was madness. I never knew all these things occurred and no bride should ever know what goes on during one of those. I wonder if Bachelorrette parties have that kind of craziness? I doubt it but you never know nowadays. Let's just say that we were all sore the next day. *Choo choo*
Saturday: Grad party. Best friend Ramon finally had his grad party and once again it was mayhem. Ended the night playing poker but we didn't have money so we played with shots. Loser of the hand had to down a shot. I lost on purpose. Lol. First hand I went all in and lost. I'm not a poker player nor a gambler. I'm also not a drinker. So I knew if i kept playing and losing I would be taking more shots. So I bet it all at once and took one shot and was done for. Smart move by me since I had to drive. Ha.
Sunday: Family parties and things of the sort. Not too much fun but that's what happens when you grow up.
Monday: Landscaping and graden work. My Mom had my Dad, my bro, and me build a greenhouse for her garden. It took us a while but it was cool. That's our family bonding experiences. We're always building something. I guess that's why me and my bro are engineers. We were trained from an early age. My mom always had us watching what our Dad was making. My Dad built alot of the stuff around the house/backyard/frontyard. And after the greenhouse was built I went shopping for a Wedding present. I ended up buying a beer dispenser since my friend brews his own beer. And after shopping me, Jay, and Grace watched Club Dread. It's made by the guys who made Super Troopers and Beerfest. I love every movie those guys make. It was like my 10th time watching it and was Jay and Grace's 1st time. There's this new movie coming out called Balls of Fury and it's a ping pong movie. For those of you who don't know, I'm all about ping pong.
Oh yeah, last night my bro bought a MacBook. If it can't run the CAD software he uses for work, we're gonna trade laptops. But I'll still give him money for it since I kinda make more than him but you didn't hear that from me. $600 + my laptop in exchange for his MacBook seems like a good deal to me. I just wanna play with GarageBand and the video programs on the MacBook. =)
Yesterday when I got home from work, I decided to take a nap in the living room. I knew if I took a nap in my room I would be too comfortable and then I wouldn't wake up until the morning.
So a crazy thing happened to me while I was napping. It seemed like I was fully awake and totally conscious but I couldn't move my body. I could hear the conversation my Mom was having with my Lola and my Dad was listening and would make some remarks every so often. I could even hear myself snoring. I knew exactly where my Mom was sitting and where my Lola was too. My Dad would get up since he was cooking and sit back down on the chair behind the sofa where I was napping. It was like I had an outer body experience where I could see and hear everything around me but the people there didn't know I was there. The weirdest part was hearing myself snore. I realized that my snore isn't a nasal one but more of my tongue dropping into my throat and causing some vibration which produces the snore sound. There is no way a person can hear themselves snore.
When I woke up, my Mom and Lola were still talking about the same thing.
Has anybody out there ever had an experience like this?
I haven't had much energy for the past month. I mean, I still go out and do the things I would normally do but my body feels drained. Everything I've been doing has been at half power. I have no idea what's going on with me.
I think a change of scenery would be nice.
I feel like setting up my drumset and just bashing away. I haven't played since December. I think it's time I hop back on.....
Imma be in Maui from 7/18-7/25. Been lookin' at flights and what not. With my work discount (since I work for an airplane company) it's only $15 cheaper than if I go to Travelocity or something of the sort. Since I will be cruisin' around with no shirt, I am officially on a diet. Today all I ate was a bunch of carrots and celery and a little bit of broccoli. We'll see how long I can last. I'm not gonna be eating rice again. Just like Lent. Ha.
I asked for the days off at work but they haven't responded. If they don't give it to me, imma just bounce. It's time for me to do things my way.
I'm going to Jay's graduation ceremony tonight. I've known Jay since kindergarten. He's one of the few friends who calls me Erick. Only my family calls me Erick but I consider Jay family. Out of my group of friends that I normally hang out with only Jay, Kevin, and Ramon are the ones that call me Erick. Those guys are my closest friends. Ernie calls me Erick too but I don't really talk to the guy anymore.
But yeah, Jay is graduating tonight and I'm proud of the guy. The stuff he had to go through with his family and the financial struggles. I'm sure his Mom didn't expect to see this day but she was always hoping. I knew he had it in him. The best way I could describe is Jay is that his talent supersedes his desire.
She has my heart in her hand at the moment. If you saw her, you'd think I'm crazy. But I got news for ya, I am crazy. I'm unconventional and I like it that way. There's something about that twang in her voice....
"The first and last breath don't matter. It's all the ones that are in-between"
I had this wicked dream on Saturday. I wish I had written down the details for it cuz I can't remember it anymore. But I kept waking up throughout the night. The dream felt so real and then I would go back to sleep and the dream would continue where I left off. I probably woke up 5 times. The only reason I know that I woke up was because I saw my clock each time. I don't recognize time when I'm in my dreams.
I bought this guitar and I gave it to my Mom for Mother's day. She started playing it and trying to remember the songs she knew back in the day. She knew one song and we played it. I played piano while she sang and played the guitar. We did this for about half an hour and then her fingers started to hurt and she said she didn't want to play anymore. She also said I could keep the guitar since I'm the one who plays the most. Ha.
So Imma be goin' to Hawaii in July for my (former best)friend Ernie's wedding. Even though I don't approve of it, I still support him. This could possibly be the last time I see or speak to him. It's sad but it's life. For those of you who don't know the story, Ernie was my neighbor and best friend since we were 3 years old. He went to the Naval Academy for college and came back a different man. He became my hero. All the stories he told me about the things he did and all his encounters and that inspired me to be a different man. But soon after he came back he met this girl who had a big effect on him. He stopped drinking, he stopped going out, he stopped being around us. Basically he stopped being our friend. We would call him to go out and he would say "Oh man, you gotta give me two days in advance." What kind of crap is that? We always call each other up for last minute plans. If you can't go, then don't go. If you can, we'll see you there. No big deal. But being friends isn't like being at work where you have to ask for days off in advance. I dunno, maybe I'm selfish but I feel like I got my friend taken away from me. There's more to the story but I'm getting angry and I'm still at work. Peace.
For the next month and a half, my Tuesday nights will consist of me being at the bowling alley in the Navy base on 32nd St. Me and my cousin joined a bowling league. I've been wanting to ever since last year but I didn't want to join alone. My cousin finally has the time to join and now we're all up on that mug. So far, there's 6 teams that consist of 4 people each. There were 40 people that signed up but only a little more than half have showed up. I think next week more people will come. It's cool cuz we get 2 tickets each to 4 Padres games. Everyone in the league will sit the same section and we'll just have a blast. Some of the guys that I tailgate with at the Chargers games are in the league too. So it's basically just another excuse to hang out. Speaking of which, I need to go out and buy a pair of bowling shoes. When I worked at K-Mart we sold these bowling shoes that looked like skater shoes so imma go out and see if they still sell it. I hate those two-tone bowling shoes at the alley. Hahahaha.
I wanna join the Table Tennis Association also. They have that at Balboa Park and tournaments are every Thursday night. I was moving up the rankings last year and I stopped by a couple times this year but I only watched.
On May 20, there's gonna be the Bay Bridge Walk that I want to participate in. It's a charity event that helps raise funds for Quality of Life programs for Navy personnel. It's a 4 mile distance that starts at the Convention Center through the Coronado bridge and all the way to Tidelands Park(right by the golf course) in Coronado. I was gonna sign up but I realized that some of my friends are graduating on that day so I might not get a chance to participate in it. I'll find out for sure what the ceremony dates are. Well it's not like any of my friends came to my ceremony so we'll see if I feel like going to theirs. I remember me and April Joy waited so we could be the last ones to be announced. Hahahahaha. That was fun.
For the past few weeks I have been walking around in alot of pain. Take that literally. I was cutting my toe nails and I cut the corner of the big toe too short. Well, when it started growing it grew under the skin since I cut it too short. So everytime I took a step I felt all pressure of the nail pressing against the skin. It felt like someone was sticking a needle under my toenail and stabbing me everytime I took a step.
So last night I decided to try to get rid of that ingrown toenail. I sliced open the skin and went to pry the nail out. I sliced open the skin just fine. It didn't hurt too bad. But trying to get the nail out was excruciating. It took me about 35 mins to get it out. I had to stop every 5 mins or so cuz the pain was unbearable. Everytime the tweezer came into contact with the nail, I felt all the pressure. The skin around the nail was so tender since it was freshly opened. The nail itself was small so it was hard to grab it. All I would grab was skin and it hurt so bad. It was also hard to see where the nail was cuz blood and puss kept oozing out.
I finally got the nail out and now it doesn't hurt as much when I take a step. I can still feel the skin since it's still open. Right now, the corner of my toe is all purple. It looks pretty nasty but it feels so much better than before. The pain endured during the removal process was so worth the end result.
This is such a good life lesson: Endure the pain and enjoy the pleasure. The greatest pain will NEVER compare to the greatest happiness.
I had my interview at Goodrich this morning. I decided to call in sick....wait, I emailed in sick today. Hahahahaha. I was pretty damn nervous when I was waiting in the lobby for my interview to start. It was crazy cuz when I was entering the gate, my name wasn't on the list for interviewees so I thought maybe they forget to give my name to the guards. So I check in with the recpetionist and my name isn't on the list either. So they contact HR and they set up a room for me to go in.
When I went into the room, there were 3 people there to interview me. The HR chick was pretty slammin'. Ha. They didn't have my resume and luckily I printed one out before I left. They were pretty impressed with my resume when they were looking over it. That calmed me down quite a bit to see their faces. I guess CATIA is a pretty big deal and I'm using the newest version so I'm one step ahead of the game.
They asked alot about my current job and everyone I talk to seems to be impressed about it. They did grill me with some technical questions that I was somewhat prepared for. They even had a paper with a picture of two plates being held together by a bolt and asked me questions about that. They asked me stuff about 4 different matreials and their properties and I couldn't remember so I responded with "Well, with the proper resources I can go out and find the correct answer." and one of the guys interviewing me said he liked that answer. Hahahahaha.
And Angela, my senior project partner, passed by the room I was being interviewed in and I said I knew her. So they brought her into the room and we all just started joking around. They were comfortable with Angela and So was I so that made things so smooth. It brought out the lighter side of the interviewers and myself. My question session probably lasted as long as my interview. I decided to grill them with questions now and they would respond with "Well, that's a good question. Bill do you want to handle that?" Hahahahaha. And they kept passing it on to the next person cuz they didn't really have good answers for me. I asked them "What they enjoy most out of the job?" and one of the guys responded "I get to work with Aimee!" Aimee is the HR chick who's pretty slammin'. Hahahahah. We all started cracking up after that.
Well, after the interview was done Angela walked out with me to my car and we chatted for a bit. She said her interview was like that too. It was pretty casual with a few technical questions thrown in but they get just want to get a feel for your personality and see if you can work in that environment. That was probably the funnest interview I've been to.
It took me 8 minutes to get there. I hope I get this job.
My bro is back from Europe and he brought me back some crazy shirts. I don't really understand them and I guess you had to be in Europe to really get a feel of what the shirt is about but they're cool. XL is Europe is slightly smaller than XL here cuz the shirts are skin tight on me. Hahahahaha. I guess that means I just have to drop a few pounds. I need to. Out of the 40+ shirts I own, only 15 fit me good. The rest are getting tighter everyday.
It was weird not having my bro around. The house was just too quiet. I like there to be noise. When it's too quiet I can hear my own thoughts and they scare me. Yeah, I'm weird like that.
On Thursday I have a follow up doctor's appt. for the pain I've been having in my elbow, wrist, and fingers. I blamed it on all the computer work I've been doing but I'm pretty sure it's from playing drums. But I haven't played drums since December and I think the computer is just aggravating an old injury. So I guess that applies as an on-the-job injury. And the only reason I played drums in Decmeber is because they asked me to play for the the X-mas program we had at work. And now I have all this worker's comp paperwork to fill out and I don't really want to do that.
I should also do some studying before my interview at Goodrich on Friday. When I had my phone interview, they grilled me with some technical questions and caught me off-guard. They asked me shit from like 2-3 years ago that I studied in school but have never actually used. Shit like factors of safety and material properties and explanations of structures like why this has that type of shape. I hope I get this job since it's like 10 mins away from my house and that means no traffic for me! Yaye! I don't mind being in my car for 50 minutes cuz I get my groove on with some music but I'm pretty sure this job will pay more than my current job.
I almost cut my hair for this upcoming interview but I decided that my hair is at a decent length when I can still comb it pretty boy styles. I did shave off my goatee which I have been growing for the past 9 months or so. It was about 3 inches long and I could almost braid it. I shouldn't have shaved it but oh well. I hate having to conform to society's standards.
You know what's weird? No hair grows on the part of my wrist that my watch touches. When I don't wear a watch, there is usually hair. I guess cuz my wrist is so big that the watch is basically glued to my wrist and doesn't allow for the hair to come out of the skin. I can't adjust my watch strap, it's set to the biggest already.
I also have alot of bald spots on my legs. Everytime I shave my legs, a patch of hair will not grow back. So if I shave my legs enough, eventually I will have no hair whatsoever.
I wish I could grow a full beard so I can the rock the Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince look. I can only grow a thin mustache and a thin goatee. Asian status.
They moved my seat at work. I used to sit with my back to the wall....which meant internet all day for me. Now I sit on the opposite end and I'm facing the wall/window and everyone sits behind me which means no more internet for me. Oh well.
NBA playoffs has begun. I love it during playoffs. Good games and pretty much every night during the first few rounds. I'm a Laker fan by default cuz when we moved here and stayed with my Uncle, he was a Laker fan and I grew up watching the Lakers. It was the Showtime Lakers with Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, AC Green, Kurt Rambis, Michael Cooper, Mykal Thompson, and the gang. I'm not a huge Kobe fan.
Did you know that there's some Chinese dude named Sun Ming-Ming who's like 7'9" tall? I was watching something on Discovery HD called Anatomy of a Giant and they were documenting his dream to make it to the NBA. It was pretty nasty cuz in Chine, they didn't have shoes big enough to fit him so he wore some smaller size and now his toes are all curled up. I think he wears a size 19 shoe. If his toes weren't curled, he'd probably wear a size 22. I wear a size 9 so his foot is HUGE!!!!!
I entered a skate shop that my friends own. I walked in to find my friend Sal working there. I wasn't aware that he worked there. Another one of my friends was putting clothes on the racks and there were some customers just lookin' at the gear. I walked in wearing a shirt that I designed. I had designed it in hopes they would sell it. Sal is diggin' my shirt but he never says anything to me. I guess his attention was to the other customers in the store. He was answering their questions, getting stuff out from the back and what not. I was just checking out their selection the whole time. I saw some all-over print jackets that I wanted.
**end of dream**
Last before I slept I was doing some design stuff on photoshop. I guess my ideas carried over into my dream. My friends play on a flag football league and I go and take pix every once in a while. The design I was doing was for their myspace page. They named me their official manager since I do some of the publicity work for them.
Today I just happen to be wearing some green, yellow, and red (aka Rasta colors). I'm rockin' a Rasta headband, my shirt is black but has some letters in Rasta colors, and my jackets has Rasta diamonds on it. So some of the coworkers are accusing me of doing the deed that is done on this day, April 20 (aka 4/20). It's pure coincidence that I'm wearing all this. I didn't even know today was the 20th until they started teasing me. Needless to say, I remain untainted.....
Last month I mentioned that I was waking up with a dry mouth/tongue and feeling all dehydrated. When I mentioned that to a couple of my friends, they said their Dads had the same thing and it was because of high blood pressure. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and they said my blood pressure was 140/100. Normal blood pressure is 120/80. I guess I'm gonna start running more and eating better. Wish me luck.
I dunno if I'm gonna do the food competitions at work anymore.....
I've been chillin' with Karmen alot lately. And today we were taking a walk together and she said I was cute. Yes. I doubt imma go for her but it feels good to know that someone thinks I'm cute. No wonder everytime I went to kiss her (in the presence of alcohol, of course. and on the cheek, not the lips) she never backed away (unlike Shanel). Hahahahahaha.
I went to the doctor yesterday. My work actually forced me to go. They gave me pain relievine medication. It doesn't work. They gave me papers showing stretches/exercises. Those work. I'll be out of commission for a while. 2 weeks before another appointment. We'll see what the diagnosis is then. Expect the worst, hope for the best, pray that everything turns out okay. =) 143.
I don't want to air out dirty laundry but I'm really pissed right now. I feel like I could shank someone, anyone. I don't care. Look at me the wrong way *shank*. Smile at me *shank shank*.
I feel betrayed. Please forgive me for anything I might think or say.....
I'm doing this for your sake, not mine. Understand this. Please. Don't put the blame on me. You asked, I responded. I have every right to be angry.
I wanted to start wearing my necklace again but the chain broke. It's a sign that maybe I shouldn't wear it yet. I'm beginning to open my eyes but apparently the sun is too bright and I still have to squint just to see my way around.....
My bro leaves for Europe tomorrow. I wish I was going too. I wish I had friends who had jobs so they would have money to go on trips with me. Boo to being a loner and only-child status will begin tomorrow (my sis lives in LA) which makes me a loner even more.
Everybody needs a little attention every once in a while. I just happen to need alot. I like receiving messages/emails/comments from people.
There was this riddle/puzzle that was presented to me. If I could solve it I would be on my way to the "next level" or a "higher plane". There were some clues given to me. Some of the clues were: A Coined Phrase and a few of the letters were laid out like in Wheel of Fortune. I stared at his riddle for the longest time and I still could not figure it out. And then someone said something to me about letting it go. It was something like "We could be out having the best time of our lives but here you are having the worst time." It reminded me of the book A Tale Of Two Cities. The opening phrase from that book was "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." and that was the answer to the riddle. I gave the answer to the riddle and I was supposed to be given access to "somewhere".
**end of dream**
Alot of my dreams are based on things that happen throughout my day. For example, if I'm at the bookstore and I see this hot girl I want to say hi to her and maybe ask her out to lunch. But in real life I'll go up to her and say hi and I'll get flustered and start talking about whatever book she is holding or what I'm holding. I'll totally forget to ask her out lunch. I'll probably have a dream later on in the night with the situation of me asking her out to lunch and her accepting. The dream will carry into the lunch session and showcase my charm and she will fall hopelessly in love with me.
Everything I don't/can't/won't do will happen in my dreams. I guess it's my super-ego being fulfilled. My desires can never be satisfied, but I can always dream....
I received a phone call from a number I didn't know so I didn't pick up. I was going through all the numbers that I knew in my head and no face or name came up when I was reciting that phone number. But I was curious as to whom it was. After a few minutes of trying to figure out who it could be, I decided to call it back.
It ended up being a familiar voice. It was a childhood friend of mine. We start talking and shootin' the shiite and whatever. I'm just happy to hear from him.
**end of dream segment. i wake up and try to go back to sleep to continue my dream**
Dreaming again, I'm in a different place. I'm at a random location with some people I know. I take some daily vitamins and supplements so I'm poppin' a couple in my mouth. Then some guy from my work shows up and sees me poppin' some pills and asks for some. I told him they were vitamins and he said he needed it. So I gave him one and he went away.
I'm talkin' to my posse and we're havin' a jolly good time. And then all of a sudden this guy shows up again askin' for more pills. I told him they were one-a-days and you need to take them with food. He said he just got 3 more from some other people and he wants more. I'm angry at this point and I wanna knock him out.
**end of dream segments**
My childhood friend and I went to the same Church, elementary school, middle school, and high school so we were really good friends. And he also lived on the street behind me. Our families were close too. His bro and my bro were really close friends. I saw his name when I was checking my email and I was thinking about hittin' him up to see what he's been up to. I decided against it since nothing new really happened to me so I didn't really want to have such a short conversation.
I just remembered about this one time at work when me, Christine and Shanel were having this conversation and Scott comes along saying he wants to join in on the fun. All of a sudden we just stop talking and look at him. And I remember saying something like "Excuse me, this is an A, B, and C conversation. So D ya real soon!" And then me and Christine started crackin' up like crazy. I don't think Shanel got the joke. She is a little slow, hence the nickname "shortbus". Just kidding Shanel, you know I ain't got nuttin' but love for ya! 143.
Remember back in the day when all the girls would end their letters with T.C.C.I.C or K.I.T. or J.A.P.A.N. or L.Y.L.A.S. or 143 or 637. That was awesome. They should start doing it again. I'll the start the trend again...
Kudos goes to the first person who can remember what all those acronyms stand for.
When I was with my old band, we were chillin' outside my house one day after practice and we were talking about dreams and crazy things that happen to us at night. Cesar, the lead guitarist, told us about something that would happen on random occassions.
One night Cesar woke up to go use the bathroom. As he was letting it out, his bro walks into to the bathroom startling him. So he's going pee and talking to his bro. So he looks over to his and bro and in the corner of his eye, past the bathroom door, he could see his bro still lying in his bed sleeping. So there's someone here talking to him in the bathroom and there's someone lying in his bro's bed. He was freaked out by this so he bolted back to his bed and went to sleep.
The next morning his bro says he had the weirdest dream. He dreamt that he got up in the middle of the night and went to the bathroom and that Cesar was in there and he started talking to him.
On another night Cesar was playing guitar and his bro comes in and says "Whoa, I feel weird. It feels like I'm floating!" And Cesar looks at him and says "Dude, where's your legs?" Cesar described his brother as smoky and almost see-through, like in the cartoons when a genie comes out of a bottle. And again he saw someone in his bro's bed while he was talking to his bro.
Cesar told his Mom about these occurrences and she said it was just her brother's soul leaving his body while he was asleep. Apparently she had experiences like this too so she wasn't freaked out to hear about it.
So everytime Cesar was having a conversation with his bro in the middle of the night, he would go and check his bro's bed. And if his bro was still in bed he would tell his bro's soul to go back to his body cuz he was getting freaked out again. And the bro's soul would listen.
That is such a crazy story. I had goosebumps when he was telling us about it.
Yesterday I wore a white shirt. I wore a white shirt when I stopped by my friend's house on Sunday. Since I was only at his house for 30 mins or so, I decided to wear that white shirt again the next day to work. During my 30 minute stay, I did grab a bite to eat. At the end of my shift yesterday, I noticed that I had barbeque stains on my shirt. I went through a whole day of work wearing a shirt with barbeque stains in the belly area. I mean, it wasn't a plain white t-shirt. It had a design in the chest/mid-section area but the stain was definitely visible. Now my question is this: Is it wrong to wear the same shirt 2 days in a row, even if no one saw you wear it the day before?
I was basically sitting at my desk the whole day yesterday. The only time I went out was during lunch and I had BBQ chicken from TEMS in the food court in Mira Mesa. So I didn't really expect anyone to notice the stain. But if they did, do you think they just kept quiet and were too embarassed to call me out on it?
I'm the kind of person who will tell a stranger that they have a booger hangin' from their nose. I know not too many people will do that. Of course I'm gonna laugh when I see it at first, but once I'm over it imma go and tell them. But if I see a girl's thong just hangin' out, imma admire it the whole time and not say a damn word. I'd rather see thong than crack. I dunno why, but seeing a crack just makes me laugh while seeing a thong just hits me in the right spot. Even if it's just the outline of a thong on tight pants, me likey.
I remember seeing a skit either on SNL or MadTV about thong diapers. It was pretty nasty but it was damn funny. I'll try to find it on youtube or something.
Conversations with myself. I just spent over an hour talking to myself. It was an interesting conversation. It was about success and how we define it. I'm not gonna get into the conversation but I wanted to talk about the fact that I find myself having these solo conversations quite frequently. I'm having one right now as I type. I'm trying to think of why I do it. I dunno. Am I the only one who does this? It's not thoughts, it's an actual conversation. I can imagine a figure I'm talking to, but the figure is myself. It's like looking in the mirror and saying "Who is that sexy beast?" and then you change your posture and respond with "I see you watchin' me watchin' you!". And you continue to go back and forth. It's like you changed roles and became that other person in the mirror but you're still you. I dunno. Maybe I am the only one who does this? Hahahahaha.
I guess this can be similar to being a kid and having an imaginary friend....And I am the imaginary friend. The kid is real, the thoughts are the ones that are deceiving. I only exist in your head. Everything you're reading right now is you imagining it. You have a very vivid imagination. You're coming to the realization that everything around you is all in your thoughts. You have the power to change things. But you're afraid to mess up so you leave things as they are and complain. The kid is growing up and the imaginary friend is disappearing. The imaginary friend and the kid are now one. The time is now 11:03am and the kid just wasted another hour having a conversation with himself.
I just went to the bathroom right now and pee'd in the urinal. I flushed and then went to wash my hands. As I'm drying my hands I hear the sound of waterfalls. I turn around and I see that the urinal is now flooded and it won't stop renewing water and the water is coming close to my feet. Some other dude walks in and sees the mess and me just standing there watching it. He then proceeds to go near the urinal and starts jiggling the flush handle. This stops the water from flowing but the urinal is still full....of my piss, nonetheless. Hahahahaha. I just stood there and watched the entire thing happen. I could have tried to stop the water from flowing but I found enjoyment in seeing the flood happen. I was imagining a toilet full of doo doo butter and the logs falling to the ground, like a raft going over the edge of an actual waterfall, and maybe being floating or being swept near the door by the vast amount of water. It was a thing of beauty. It was funny though cuz all I said to the guy was "It won't stop!" After his heroics, he said the water stopped but it won't drain. He would go ahead and call the janitors. I didn't say another word and left. The entire bathroom floor is now covered in my piss. Hahahaha.
On a sad note, Upper Management is trying to prevent us from doing our weekly food challenges. Last week we had 2 people throw up, for the first time ever in competition history. More and more people are starting to participate in these challenges. when we first started it was only about 4-6 people who would compete. Now we have around 10-15. It's a great team bonding exercise. It pushes us to our limits and that's when you see the true nature of a person, when they reach that limit. This week we were supposed to chug a bottle of maple syrup...
Last weekend at Sportsfest in Pomona, the bathroom door in our hotel would not lock. I shower at night, instead of mornings, for some strange reason and the fellas kept opening the door to the bathroom whenever I was in the shower. Well after about the 10th time they opened the door, I just opened the shower curtain and showered out in the open for them to see. And they stopped messing with me after that. It's like V for Vendetta when Natalie Portman is all locked up and abused and then she loses her fear and is set free.
This past weekend, I saw Jerry's "brain" on numerous occassions. He set us all up pretty good. If you don't know what the "brain" is, google it when you get HOME. If you know what the "goat" is, then you might have an idea. Or you can just watch the movie "Waiting". It's the one with Ryan Reynolds and they work at some restaurant and they mess with people's food or whatever. It's a good one. And the hostess is HOTT! I think her real name is Vanessa Lengies.
The audio and video might be off but whatever. Blame it on youtube. This is a good song and I'm not playing it the way it's really played cuz it's just one guitar and I can never play anything the way someone else does it. I got my own style. I call it crappy. Now if I can only learn to sing falsetto....
You know those street performers that paint themselves silver and pretend to be statues? They were everywhere. All the places I went to, they were there. And I think it was the same two people everywhere I went. It was one guy and one girl. The girl was always on the guy's shoulder and then they'd do some twirling crap like spinning in circles and shiite. Gymnastics stuff....or figure skater doubles moves. It was weird cuz when I see them doing their moves, it was like The Matrix when the bullets are coming at Neo in slow motion. I had a 360 degree view. The guy was hoisting the girl in the air with one arm and her arms and legs made a human X and they were spinning somehow. It might have been me spinning completely around them while they stayed still but I saw them at every angle. It was weird....
**end of dream**
Poker last night at Joel's pad. I went but didn't play. There were so many people. They had 2 seperate poker tables and a pot of over $400 when I left. I just chilled and played guitar. I'm writing a bunch of songs again. I wanna find people to jam with. It's easy to find people who play but it's hard to find people who are actually good. I know ALOT of people who are good at playing songs they hear on the radio or whatever but when it comes to songwriting they don't know jack shiite. When I was learning guitar, I couldn't play the songs I heard on the radio so I wrote my own songs. I'm a horse of a different color. I'm a right handed lefty living in a backwards world.
Mike Einziger, the guitarist for Incubus, is currently sidelined from action. They had to cancel some tour dates. Word of the streets is that he injured his hand and needed surgery. Well, I did some research on message boards and forums and what not and it turns out that he developed carpal tunnel in his left hand. For rightys, the left hand is the fret hand on the guitar. Well, I can't play guitar for more than 15 minutes before my thumb starts going numb. If I keep playing beyond that, other fingers start to go numb. It's usually my thumb and pointer finger that get it the worst. I'm pretty sure I have carpal tunnel from playing the drums. I should get it checked up now that I have medical insurance. If I do have carpal tunnel and need surgery, it's gonna be weird for 2 months. My left hand is the one that is feeling the pain and I use my left hand more than I use my right. Whatever though, I guess I can learn to use my right hand. If it heals, then it'll all be worth it.
So I finally got approval to come in to work at 9am when my bro goes to Europe in a couple weeks. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I was kinda hoping it wouldn't get approved. Call me an arsole or whatever but it would be nice if I had my own life. *see last post if you have no idea what I'm babbling about*
********************************************
My back still hurts. I might have a pinched nerve or something. Or I could just be too damn fat for my own good. I'm working on it though. I haven't eaten rice, any chocolate, or soda for around 37 days or so. Imma try to go longer and see what happens.
I met a girl this past weekend and she was pretty damn cool. I'd like to spend some more time with her and get to know her more. Thing is, she's newly single so I really don't wanna be THAT GUY again. Whatever though, she's hot so if I'm THAT GUY I don't care. Hahahahahaha. There was alcohol involved when I met so I'm not sure how cool she really is. I'd like to have a non-alcoholic conversation/interaction with her.
I couldn't really sleep last night cuz my back has been killin' me. I wore a back brace when I got home from work and it helped. I took it off when I was gonna sleep and maybe I shoulda left it on. I shoulda wore it to work today too.
I have no friends who have real jobs. Everyone is still in school or they dropped out. The ones who have jobs I don't ever see or talk. That is partially my fault. I ain't baggin' on anyone but when they invite me to go out during the week, it's just not possible for me to go out at 9pm and come home at 4am and then be ready for work at 6am.
My brother is going to Europe for a couple weeks. He's usually the one who takes my Mom to work in the mornings and I pick her up in the evenings. Me and my Dad work the early shift so that's why my bro takes her in the mornings. Well, since my bro will be gone my Mom asked me to take her to work in the mornings. My Dad works an earlier shift than me so he can't do it. My Mom starts work at 9am. I have flex time so I can start anytime between 530-730am. To get to work by 730am I have to leave my house by 630am. For my Mom to get to work by 9am, we can leave the house at 840am. I'm not sure how this is gonna work. My Mom doesn't want to leave the house 630am cuz she'll have +2 hrs of nothing to do before she starts work. I asked my supervisors if I can come in later but they still haven't responded. Is it selfish of me to not want to take my Mom to work? Me having to change my schedule for her and all. I mean, my Mom can drive on her own. She just hasn't done so in about 6 years. She stopped driving when I started. I wouldn't mind taking her if it fit into my schedule. Driving isn't that hard. I'm pissed.....
I was just cruisin' all over the place lookin' to take pictures. I ended up taking pictures of alot of people. People I knew, strangers, innocent bystanders, and anyone within viewing range. I know I was trying to convince people to let me take some pix of them. Someone even offered to take pix of me with my camera and I happily obliged. That is all.
**end of dream**
I know this dream seems all short but it wasn't. Cruisin' around town takes time and taking pix takes time and convincing people to be in pix is even harder.
Dream world > Reality
I think I'm getting sick again. This morning I was yackin' it up and it came out with such force that I threw out my back. I was all hunched over the sink and then my back stiffened up. I tried stretching it out but it's too much pain right now. Maybe later on in the day I'll try again. My back hurts so much that my neck is starting to hurt. I'm trying compensate for my lack of mobility and my neck is taking the brunt of it. Like when I was driving to work, it was hard to look over my shoulder when I was changing lanes. My back didn't want to move so I'd turn my neck a little more than I normally would and that was not a good idea. Oh well. No pain, no gain.
I was either in school or at work or at some place I go to that had set break times and a lunch. Well, at the end of lunch I got a call from a lady friend. She was asking for a "special favor". She had this sexy voice and everything that came out of her mouth was said in a sexy tone too. I told her that if she had called me 30 minutes earlier I would have been to her place with the quickness. 30 minutes is plenty of time for me to get the job done. I told her that I'd go there as soon as I could. Since it was the end of lunch and I had to go doing back to whatever I needed to do, she was on my mind the whole time and I couldn't concentrate. I felt like leaving and doing this "special favor" she was asking for.
It seems like hours pass and it's time for me to leave. I go home and fix myself up and shower and what not. I pack up some "toys" that we could use and I'm about to leave my house.....
**Eyes open and I look at the clock. It's not time to wake up yet and I realize that my dream didn't finish. So I think of all the details that happened in the dream and re-enact it in my mind. I want to fall back asleep so I could continue my dream, hopefully...**
(I fall back asleep and the dream continues) I'm already on my way to her place. I'm thinking about all the good stuff that we will be doing.
I make it to her place and I immediately mention that I'm here to take care of her "special favor". And she's all excited about me getting there sooner than she thought. She says "Follow me, let's take this in the kitchen". I'm thinking this girl is a freak, but I like it.
So we make it to the kitchen and I start untucking my shirt and prepping to take it completely off and then she says "I think this fridge would look better on this side of the kitchen. What do you think?"
It dawns on me that this "special favor" is nothing more than me moving her fridge for her. So I end up moving the fridge for her and nothing else happens.
This dream was weak. I woke up all disappointed, as usual. The story of my life even occurs in my dreams.
The weekend in Pomona was fun as hell. We got 4th in the flag football tourny, which was a big disappointment for us. "If you aint first, you're last!" But the time we spent up there was great. The bonding sessions, the harrassments, the pictures, and the stories to share was all worth the trip. I'll post pix when I get home from work. In a span of two days, I took 1370 photos. Hahahahahaha. It took up 5.39GB of space. It's a good thing I have an 8GB memory card. I love having a DSLR! =)
I went to the pier yesterday to take pix of the sunset and I ran into Tatiana. I haven't seen her since around Halloween. I think she is absolutley gorgeous. If there is one girl that could make me forget about every other girl out there, it's her. I asked her to be my model so I can practice my photography and she said she's down. I took some pix of her before at the Halloween party I saw her at and she adores the camera. She'll be a good model. =)
This weekend, I'll be partying up in Pomona. It's Sportsfest and I'm gonna be taking pix of my friends playing football. I went last year and it was pretty damn fun. I drove there last year and my truck got rear-ended. So this year I will not be driving. Ha. I'm hoping it's not all raining so my camera doesn't get messed up. I had a crap camera last year so I didn't care if it got all jacked up. So far, the weather looks good and I hope it stays this way. I'll bring an umbrella just in case. And I'll also use the umbrella as shade from the sun. Ha.
I woke up later than usual and could not remember anything I dreamt of. The trick for remembering my dreams is to think of it right when I wake up. I play back the scenario(s) in my head. This morning I woke up thinking "Man, I might be late". Thus I rushed to get ready and forgot all about my dream. As the day goes on, I forget my dream altogether. I really should write it down right when I wake up so I can recount everything acurrately but let's just say that I'm just too damn lazy to do that.
Anyways, we started the 4/10 work week so the food competition will be on Thursday (today) instead of Friday. We will be attempting to see who can finish a jumbo Slim Jim the fastest. These team building/bonding activities really work. It makes me see the human side of my coworkers instead of seeing them as just robots doing their duties. I've only won 1 competition so far. Today, I'm looking for my 2nd....
It was the eve of my brother's birthday. I was at home wondering where he was. He was home a short while ago and then left with some friends. A long while had passed and he was still not home. I was in my room and I'd begin to hear noises. I'd go outside and find nothing. I could hear voices, people talking, having a good time. Yet it was never there when I was around.
*end of dream*
********************************************************** I find it hard to sleep. I constantly wake up throughout the night. Sometimes I open my eyes to see the time. Sometimes I just keep them closed hoping to fall back asleep. And I wake up every morning feeling dehydrated. I don't feel refreshed. It's like the lights are on but no one is home.....
I was in a music studio and there was this band recording. The drummer was doing his tracks but he was having alot of trouble. I merely watched as he did take after take to no avail. I could see the frustration in his eyes and also in the eyes of his bandmates. He was so angry at himself that he left the studio to go cool off somewhere. I hadn't touched a drumset in years and I saw his drumset just laying there in the booth all alone. I had the urge to go sit on the set and start playing. I started to walk closer to the drumset and gave it a good look. I slowly circled it looking at every inch.
I eventually sat down on it but didn't play. I was just thinking about the times when I did play and imagining that I was still playing. I picked up the sticks and clicked them together. I started giving a little tap to each drum, hearing the warm sounds that resonated with each hit. One by one, I hit all the drums. I was just sitting there on the set, not in a playing position.
I started to play a simple beat and it felt good. I kept playing and started incorporating some of the things I used to do. The groove started to get a life of it's own. I felt the passion coming back.
I was playing all hard on the drums. I was putting my soul into my playing because it felt so good to be on a drumset. After I was done playing, I noticed that the band that was recording was still in the studio except for the drummer. They heard me playing and they were impressed. The whole time I was playing, it was being recorded. They said it was a keeper. They started walking into the drum booth to talk to me. I was hoping they were gonna ask me to be the new drummer of their band. And as they were walking in, I WOKE UP.
*end of dream*
************************************************** This was a cool dream cuz I was actually in a music studio on Sunday watching my old band record songs for a new album. Their new drummer really was having trouble recording the tracks. He didn't leave the studio like in my dream. He just waited for the bass player to come along and play the song with him as he was recording.
She sent me another little message. It got to me again. Damn her to heck. And damn me for being such a fool. So I spent an hour learning this one song on the guitar last night. I'll record a video of me playing it and kudos goes to the first person who can name it. It's a good song. I think you all will like it....
I remember being in a car driving somewhere. I wasn't the one driving. I wasn't in control. There were 3 of us. One guy, one girl, and me. I saw one of those freeway signs that show the number of miles to an exit. We ended up getting to our destination but I was now alone. I have no idea where I was or what I was doing there.
That's all I can remember. There wasn't much content in this dream but I woke up feeling tired and I almost fell when I tried to stand up. My equilibrium felt off and right now my back hurts.
From now until I feel like changing it, this is what I will write about. My dreams, or what I can remember of them. Some are more vivid than others, some are very lacking in content. Some are strange and I don't know what they mean. Actually, I don't know what alot of them mean. Maybe you can help me decipher them.....
There is no greater feeling than sitting on a warm toilet seat. It gives you that feeling that someone cares about you enough to warm it up for you. Ha. Yeah Right. For the 2nd time, I had someone look under the stall door while I was in it. It's a weird feeling seeing someone's face when you're going number poo. I almost feel scared but at the same time I wanna laugh cuz he's an idiot. I mean, when the door is closed that usually means someone is in there. How hard is that to comprehend? Do you really think someone would close the door and then hop over to get out? Who does that? Come on now. Common sense. Put it to use. I know it's hard but if you put your mind to it, you can do anything.
I've been having these weird dreams. It's like real life encounters but in a "what if" situation. A few years back, someone got into my truck and the bastards stole my seat covers. So a few days ago I had a dream that someone stole my seat covers again. I was pretty pissed cuz these new seat cover I bought cost $300. When I woke up, I had the urge to go to my truck and check to see if the covers were still there. It felt so real, maybe because it happened before. The feeling of someone stealing something from you is so disheartening. It sucks all the life out of you. It makes you feel so vulnerable. I hate that feeling.
I also had this other dream where I was gettin' it on. Hahahaha. That too felt so real. And when I woke up, I had a surprise. Guess what it was? Hahahahaha.
My "what if" dreams are things that happen to me throughout my day but I acted the proper way in real life. My dreams give me a glimpse of an alternate world where everything goes my way. Like if I run into an old classmate that I never really liked, I would be polite and have a nice little conversation of what we've been up to. In my dreams, I would run into this classmate and she/he would start talking and I'd interupt and go off about how much of an idiot they are and then I'd leave. In my dreams I feel satisfied. My dreams rule.
I just remembered that last Friday I saw one of the funniest things I've ever seen. At work, I went to the bathroom and the urinal is after the stall. So as I pass the stall, something catches my eye so I take a few steps back to see what caught my eye. And here I am looking at the stall laughing hysterically. What I saw before me was nothing I have ever really seen before. I've seen people using the bathroom and not flushing. I've seen people leaving smears of doo doo butter on the seat. But never before have I seen a log on the ground. I wasn't even mad, I was impressed. Normally, any person would disgusted and grossed out by this. Anger might even ensue. But not with me. I even took a pic of this with my camera phone. too bad I haven't uploaded it yet. I couldn't stop laughing. Even when I think of it right now, I'm still cracking up. Oh man, the things that bring delight to my life.....
The only reason I still come to work: Friday Food Challenges. Today we had the marshmallow challenge. Who can eat the most marshmallows in a minute? We each had 15 to start things off.
I got Shanel to start a blog. The evil powers of persuasion. Muahahahaha! More for me to read. I wish more of my friends would update on a regular basis....but they all blog on myspace and I'm not really using myspace that much anymore. Imma just use it for my photography and my music. No more personal use. I have facebook too but I never go on. I still have my xanga that I never update. That one was for my poetry. I have a fotopage that I should delete. I signed up yesterday for this new photo site called FilmLoop. It's pretty sweet. I'll be using that to post pix on my website that I still haven't fixed up. Ha. I'm just lazy.
After work here is my routine. Come home, grab a quick snack, pick up my Mom from work, go to the gym, go home, shower, go online while I wait for my hair to dry, watch some girl on girl action, clean up, brush teeth, and sleep. The only time I'm home is to sleep. I'm glad I don't pay rent or anything or else I would never want to leave the house. It would be like paying for something that I'm not using. If I have a house and I'm making payments I would always have my friends over and I'd have the house decked out with everything we could possibly want to do so that way I feel like I'm spending my money well.
The only time I don't feel guilty spending money is when I buy food. You can't go wrong when you get good food.
I'm over it but I'm still not wearing my necklace.
Oh, and I now have a copy of V5. Time to install and pass it along to good friends. =)
There once was a little girl who had a bad temper. Her mother gave her a bag of nails and told her that every time she lost her temper, she must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the girl had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as she learned to control her anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. She discovered it was easier to hold her temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the girl didn't lose her temper at all. She told her mother about it and the mother suggested that the girl now remove one nail for each day that she was able to hold her temper. The days passed and the young girl was finally able to tell her mother that all the nails were gone. The mother took her daughter by the hand and led her to the fence. She said, "You have done well, my daughter, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one." You can put a knife in a person and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say "I'm sorry", the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us...
And...Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole in your fence.
